To give a uniform feel a very thick layer of closed cell foam is located right under the first fiber layer. The Lumbar and Side support systems are designed in an H pattern with the lumbar area covers the part of the mattress between your head and hips. The side supports run the full length of the mattress on each side. Both are made up of extra large convoluted foam fingers to offer the maximum amount of support in comparison to mattresses that offer lumbar support that consists of fiber. REINFORCED CORNERS Shown here are the actual reinforced corners that cap off each of the four corners on the waterbed mattress. Reinforced corners are nice and big to cover a large surface which alleviates the stress caused at the corner seams of a waterbed mattress, and thicker, to protect the corners from the metal brackets of the wood frame. The black inserts here are the linen lock corners that are inserted permanently inside of the corners. Exposed all of the time, they grip the linens when you wrap the sheets around the corners. This is a great feature for people who always have their sheets pop off the mattress.

EDGE SUPPORT Edge Support runs down the sides of the mattress, allows for easy entry and exit from the waterbed mattress, and keeps you from rolling into the frame (frame bite).
